Operational support officer

The operational support officer receives staff from local police stations who arrive at the unit with a defendant. This officer verifies the reasons for the arrest and carries out duties in respect to processing a person in custody (reception process), bertillonage or even administering the blood alcohol test.

This officer ensures the surveillance, custody, safety and well-being of detainees. As well, this officer prepares the release or transfer of people in custody with the institutions concerned (detention centres, municipal courts or hospitals).
