Since October 17, 2018, the SPVM has been conducting daily B.R.A.V.E.S. operations (roadblocks, drunk driving and drug evaluation) all over the island of Montréal. A team consisting of a sergeant and 10 officers is dedicated to these roadblocks that aim to educate motorists not to drive if they have consumed drugs or alcohol, while improving the road safety record. These operations take place every day until the end of the year.
While consuming alcohol and cannabis is legal, it is important to remember that getting behind the wheel with impaired driving abilities contravenes the Criminal Code. The consequences of this behaviour are devastating. Do not put your life and the life of others in danger unnecessarily.
