Our goals
The team at PDQ 9 works to maintain security in its territory, in compliance with the SPVM's global priorities. To this end, the team has established these objectives :
Increase antisocial behaviour operations
- Prevent and combat crime.
- Maximize alternative patrols.
Maintain efforts against street gang crime
- Work with our partners.
- Participation in youth round table meetings.
- Presentations about extortion, intimidation and drugs in PDQ 9 elementary and secondary schools.
- Soccer activities for youth at risk of becoming gang members. The goal is to prevent and offer a chance of uniting Police Officers and public safety partners.
Enforce driver compliance with the Highway Safety Code
- Reduce speed on main throughways.
- Set up radar operations.
Reduce risky pedestrian behaviour
- Reduce the number of accidents.
- Carry out pedestrian operations.
- Articles in local newspapers aimed at the elderly (people at risk in PDQ 9).
- Prevention booths in PDQ 9's three shopping malls
Enhance cooperation, strengthen ties and pursue bridge-building activities with the community
- Increase seniors' sense of security.
- Meet and visit synagogues.
- Meet the elderly in their homes and residences.
- Citizen patrols to increase the visibility and help the elderly.
