Our goals

The team at PDQ 20 is working hard to maintain the safety of our local citizens and merchants and the hundreds of thousands of other people who pass through our territory each day, in keeping with the SPVM's global priorities. In order to offer quality service adapted to the distinctive features of our territory and meet the demands and needs of a diverse clientele, the team at PDQ 20 has established the following objectives :

Urban management  

  • Provide police visibility to foster direct and recurring contact with the public
    • Maintain a local foot patrol
    • Continue to involve police cadets in improving the public's sense of security
  • Increase operational activities related to antisocial behaviour
    • Reduce problems related to unlicensed sales
    • Intervene with people who engage in antisocial behaviour

Peace and sense of security

  • Reduce the crime rate, local problems and antisocial behaviour.
  • Take action against the street gang phenomenon :
    • Maintain police operations related to street gangs.
    • Work with partners to identify lasting solutions.

Road safety and traffic  

  • Promote better sharing of the road network by different users.
  • Ensure a smooth flow of traffic on public roads by reducing double parking.
  • Enforce the Highway Safety Code with drivers, pedestrians and cyclists by carrying out regular :
    • preventive operations at target intersections.
    • suppressive operations at problem intersections.

Partnership and cooperation with the community

  • Pursue our community relations action plan and continue to network with our various partners.
