Debit Card Fraud

What to do?

If you are the victim of fraud:

Prevention tips

  • Never disclose your personal identification number (PIN).
  • Do not choose an easy PIN and do not write it down anywhere.
  • Carry out your transactions at times and places where you feel comfortable.
  • Never let your card out of your sight.
  • When you enter your PIN, use your body or your other hand to block the view of people nearby.
  • If you suspect that an automatic teller has been tampered with, try entering a fake PIN. If it works, alert the financial institution.
  • In case of loss or theft, have your financial institution cancel your debit card immediately.
