Our goals

PDQ 21 is located in the Ville-Marie borough, in downtown Montréal.

This area is frequented by millions of visitors every year who come to participate in cultural activities and festivals. The borough is also home to engaged residents and business owners who care about the quality of life and safety in their neighbourhood.

Our objectives

Management of urban spaces

  • Maintain a pleasant and safe urban environment.
  • Intervene with people who behave inappropriately.
  • Promote harmonious cohabitation with the homeless.
  • Continue the second-line homelessness monitoring for certain necessary local cases.
  • Intensify our involvement with regard to drugs through increased presence in problem areas.
  • Maintain a visible and reassuring police presence during festive events.

Traffic and road safety

  • Promote road sharing between different users.
  • Improve road safety, particularly to reduce the number of accidents involving serious injuries and deaths in pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Carry out the preventive and repressive operations at problem intersections.
  • Ensure better traffic flow on public roads.

Sense of safety and peace

  • Preserve citizens' quality of life and sense of safety through police visibility by foot and bike patrol.
  • Promote direct, regular contacts with the population with a targeted patrol plan and participation in neighbourhood activities.

Partnership and liaison with the community

  • Develop and consolidate cooperation with community organizations, merchants and groups of citizens.
  • Establish a communication channel to facilitate the transmission complaints or comments from our residents and merchants in the sector.
