Our goals
The team at PDQ 3 works to maintain security in its territory, in compliance with the SPVM's global priorities. To this end, the team has established these objectives :
Anchor the police service in the community
- Continue to participate in sports activities involving police officers and youth in the neighbourhood (Projet «Ça bouge! »).
- Provide police presence during activities held by organizations and partners.
- Take an active part in various community sectors.
- Continue the efforts of the mental health committee in support of citizens and police officers.
Maintain the security of the public
Strengthen the public’s sense of security through diverse, innovative actions
- Meet newcomers to inform them about laws, bylaws and our role of assisting citizens.
- Encourage merchants around schools to report problematic situations.
- Patrol large parks by bike and ATV.
- Continue prevention programs in schools.
- Do follow ups with victims, particuliary with vulnerable people.
- Step up vigilance around licensed establishments.
Reduce accidents that lead to death or injury
- Raise awareness among patrons of licensed establishments by making preventive visits to discuss drinking and driving.
- Raise awareness among target groups (youth and seniors).
- Analyze accidents involving death and injury in the last year to establish intervention targets that will improve the road safety record.
- Conduct safety road operations aiming speeding and distracted driving near schools, accident-prone sectors and other places subject to complaints from citizens.
