On July 7, we will pay tribute to our colleague, Police Officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, who was killed in the line of duty on June 22.
We invite members of the public to join us in this public tribute to honour his memory and show their support for his family, loved ones and the entire policing community.
Those who wish to do so may join the procession and attend the commemorative ceremony, which will be held at the Bell Centre. The ceremony will also be livestreamed on the SPVM YouTube channel.
9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.: Arrival at the Citizen Procession Assembly Area (Zone d'attente citoyenne cortège) for those wishing to participate in the procession
10:00 a.m.: Departure of the procession
11:00 a.m.: Opening of the Citizen Ceremony Assembly Area (Zone d'attente citoyenne cérémonie) for those attending the ceremony only
12:30 p.m.: Ceremony begins
2:30 p.m.: Ceremony concludes
Members of the public wishing to participate in the procession are invited to gather at the Citizen Procession Assembly Area (zone d'attente citoyenne cortège) between 9:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on René-Lévesque Boulevard, between Saint‑Urbain Street and Saint‑Laurent Boulevard.
Attendees are encouraged to use public transit. The nearest métro stations are Saint‑Laurent and Place‑d'Armes.
Members of the public who wish to attend the ceremony without participating in the procession may proceed to the Citizen Ceremony Gathering Area (zone d'attente citoyenne cérémonie), located south of Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, across from Rio Tinto Alcan Courtyard, starting at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Attendees are encouraged to use public transit whenever possible.
BEFORE THE CEREMONY
At the entrance to the Bell Centre, all attendees will undergo a security check.
DURING THE CEREMONY
Out of respect for the commemorative nature of the event, we ask that you set your electronic devices to silent mode and limit their use.
To ensure the ceremony runs smoothly, we ask that you remain in your designated area and follow the master of ceremonies’ instructions.
AFTER THE CEREMONY
To ensure a smooth departure for all participants, we ask that you leave the premises in an orderly manner.
We greatly appreciate your patience in areas with heavy foot traffic.
Please follow the designated exit routes.
Please note that no food will be sold on-site.
Bottles of water will be distributed free of charge to participants.
No food will be sold inside the venue. Complimentary bottled water will be provided.
Prohibited items: Please note that all backpacks, cooler bags and sports bags are prohibited, regardless of size. Food and beverages from outside the venue are also not permitted.
For guests who require assistance with mobility, Bell Centre ushers will be available at the entrance to escort guests to their seats.
