The Équipe intégrée de lutte contre le proxénétisme (EILP) is currently investigating a case concerning sexual exploitation of several young women between 18 and 25 years of age. The investigators have reasons to believe these individuals might have other victims in Québec and Alberta.

Vincent-Olivier Marcheterre and Antoni Proietti appeared today at the Gatineau Courthouse to answer eight counts, including human trafficking, material benefits, procuring, sexual assault and assault for events that occurred between the end of 2011 and the first half of 2012 regarding a victim who then was 20 years of age.

These two individuals are currently incarcerated following their arrest by the EILP on July 27, 2018 for charges regarding human trafficking, procuring, sexual assault and assault concerning four other victims between 20 and 25 years of age for events that occurred between the months of June 2014 and the end of July 2018. They also appeared on June 7, 2019, also for counts of human trafficking and procuring, regarding a 5th victim who was 18 years of age at the time of the events for the period between June 2014 and November 2018.

Marcheterre is 34 years old. He is 1.88 m (6’2’’) tall, weighs 92 kg (205 lb) and has brown hair and blue eyes. Proietti is 29 years old. He is 1.83 m (6’) tall, weighs 98 kg (215 lb) and has blond hair and blue eyes. Both have multiple tattoos.

Anyone who may have been a victim or knows a potential victim of Vincent-Olivier Marcheterre and Antoni Proietti is asked to visit their local police station or call 911 to file an official complaint or make a statement.

The Équipe intégrée de lutte contre le proxénétisme is a joint investigation unit of police forces working together to fight networks involved in the procurement and human trafficking for sexual exploitation at the interregional, interprovincial and international levels. The Direction des enquêtes criminelles of the Sûreté du Québec coordinates the EILP and the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal ensures its tactical operation. The squad brings together investigators from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Service de police de la Ville de Québec, Service de police de la Ville de Laval, Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau and Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil.
