Jean-Luc Pelletier a été vu pour la dernière fois l'après-midi du 1er juillet 2024 près de l’intersection des rues Sherbrooke et Moreau situées dans l’arrondissement de Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie et n’a pas été revu depuis.  Il se déplace à pied ou en transport en commun.  Les enquêteurs craignent pour sa sécurité puisqu’il a tenu des propos inquiétants.
