MONTRÉAL, May 14, 2024 – The Module des enquêtes collisions at the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is calling on citizens to help identify a suspect and find witnesses relating to a collision that caused bodily harm to a child on Sunday, April 28, 2024 in the LaSalle neighbourhood.
Summary of events
A child was seriously injured in a collision at around 3 p.m. close to the intersection on Rue Réjane and Avenue Dollard in LaSalle. The victim was hit by a dark grey Mazda CX-3 that left the scene before the police arrived.
Witnesses sought
The SPVM is trying to identify the passenger(s) of a white Honda Civic that was driving close to the incident and the owner of a black Tesla that was parked on the side of Rue Réjane close to Rue Marie-Claire.
Profile of the suspect
The driver of the vehicle involved is a male with dark skin and aged possibly between 20 and 35. He is approximately 1.70 m tall with short curly hair. He was driving a dark grey Mazda CX-3.
The SPVM is sharing CCTV images that may help identify the driver and the passengers, as well as the owners of two vehicles who may have witnessed the collision.
Anyone who has any information that may help the investigators on this case is asked to contact 911 or their neighbourhood police station. It is also possible to file a report with Info-Crime Montréal anonymously and confidentially at 514 393-1133 or online. Rewards up to $3,000 may be offered by Info-Crime Montréal for information leading to the arrest of suspects. Some conditions apply.
