Montréal, June 9, 2017 – Investigators from the Section des services partagés des enquêtes of the Division Ouest du Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is asking for the public’s help locating Muhidiin Ahmed Farah, 31 years old, a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. The man is actively being sought by police on a Canada-wide arrest warrant. He is considered armed and dangerous.
At around 4:25 a.m. on May 10, 2017, the victim was going to his motel room in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. Muhidiin Ahmed Farah and his accomplice, Daniel Khet, brutally attacked the victim using a firearm as he was walking down the motel’s corridor. The suspects used excessive violence during the incident. The victim attempted to get away using the emergency exit, but came face to face with the suspects, who again wounded him. They then escaped on foot, but surveillance camera images have helped investigators identify the suspects.
Muhidiin Amhed Farah is currently unlawfully at large after breaking the conditions of his parole. He regularly travels to Montréal andSaskatoon, usually by train. He has ties to street gangs and to several activities as a pimp. Daniel Khet was arrested on June 2 and appeared at the Court of Québec on charges of armed robbery and several firearm-related charges.
Muhidiin Amhed Farah is dark skinned and has brown eyes and black hair. He is 6’ tall (1.83 m) and weighs 187 lbs (85 kg).
