Sexual Exploitation Section

The core mandate of the Sexual Exploitation Section is to protect victims and vulnerable people. A major part of the team's efforts is devoted to combating pimps and cyber-predators. 

In their investigations and police interventions, members of the Sexual Exploitation Section also regularly collaborate with other specialized units of the SPVM, such as Technological Crimes, Sexual Assault, General Investigations and the Gendarmerie. 

This Section is made up of two units : Child Sexual Exploitation on the Internet and Sexual Exploitation – Pimping. 

ESEI

The mission of the Child Sexual Exploitation on the Internet (the French acronym is ESEI) unit is to protect children by investigating crimes related to child pornography, computer luring and the non-consensual distribution of intimate images between minors. The ESEI mainly targets sexual predators operating via various digital platforms. 

ES-PROX

The Sexual Exploitation - Pimping (the French acronym is ES-Prox) unit focuses on prevention among victims of sexual exploitation and those at risk. Efforts are also made to crack down on exploiters. Les Survivantes program, which has become a model to follow, offers support and accompaniment to victims. The members of ES-Prox work closely with a number of community and institutional partners to carry out the team's mission. 

Mandate

Events related to sexual exploitation include pimping, human trafficking, child pornography, computer luring and the exchange of intimate images between minors.
