The Division des communications et relations médias of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) offers a unique service in North America. Media relations officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
They patrol the entire island of Montréal and rapidly make their way to locations where various incidents occur, in order to collect and transmit relevant information to the media representatives. They are available to respond to media queries at any time.
The SPVM’s media relations team is composed of one Commander, one Sergeant, six media relations officers, and two communication agents which are civilian employees.
